To what extent does gender inequality affect a woman? The unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender is what gender inequality is all about. To be put in simpler words, it's just differentiating people based on whether they're a woman or man. Why does gender inequality exist? The root cause of gender inequality is the role and place which society assigns to women. It isn't because of social class, but of culture. When religious freedom is attacked, women suffer a lot.
